Red Barricades

The biggest event in the history of the Cat's Lair is the new campaign game of Red Barricades.

Jeff Toreki and Brian Roundhill are pushing counters for the evil Germans, while Roy Casagranda and Sam Tyson (me) are defending the glorious city (it used to be at least) of our Russian motherland.

The map perimeter at the end of October 17th is shown above. Casualties were fairly low, and the Germans were held in check on the Volga side, mainly due to their bad luck in the OBA department. They were able to push down the west edge of the map, and shoud be able to get a good push towards the factories in the top half of the map on the 18th.

The map perimeter at the end of October 18th is shown here. The Germans earned 52 CVP to the Russian 22 CVP. Once again the Germans were held in check on the Volga side, mainly due to their bad luck in the OBA department, and a timely Russian OBA CH on a Pz IIIL and the eastern kill stack. The Russians held on to all of the big factories, and managed to thwart the German attempt to penetrate the C23 building, killing off the intruding 5-4-8 in the refit resolution of the CC phase. The K15 factory is gutted, and most of the buildings in the W1 thru Z6 area are burned to the ground or still blazing.
